6-7 October 2022
Brussels, Belgium and online
The high-level conference ‘The Bioeconomy – Enabling the European Green Deal in Challenging Times’ will feature the findings of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy Progress Report, adopted in June 2022 and highlight the role of bioeconomy policy to enhance policy coherence and system thinking. A series of bioeconomy success stories from EU research and innovation, including CBE JU-funded projects, will be presented, alongside evidence for a successful implementation of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy. There will also be an opportunity to discuss how the bioeconomy can help to better manage certain trade-offs, by addressing the question of how increasing biomass demand for energy and industrial needs can be matched with increasing climate and biodiversity objectives.
The session ‘Access to finance and bioeconomy breakthrough innovations’ (6 October 15.15-16.15) will showcase key bioeconomy success stories in Europe, supported by CBE JU. The partnership’s Head of Programme Virginia Puzzolo will chair the session.
CBE JU projects will also be featured in the event’s exhibition.
The conference will take place in the Charlemagne building in Brussels and will also be live-streamed.
