In May 2026, The Hague will host the 34th edition of the European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE). This event is considered one of the most influential platforms for the biomass sector worldwide, bringing together more than 1.500 delegates from the scientific, business, and policy sectors. The central theme of this edition is the further acceleration of the circular bioeconomy and the role of bioenergy in European climate policy.
The conference offers a comprehensive program of technical sessions, workshops, and exhibitions, focusing on the latest technological breakthroughs and scientific insights in the field of renewable resources. Key topics include the conversion of waste streams, the scaling up of advanced biofuels, and the integration of biomass into chemical value chains.
European cooperation and innovation
EUBCE 2026 is supported by the European Commission and the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). This involvement underscores the conference's importance for European innovation policy. Specific program components will highlight the practical application of research, emphasizing collaboration between public and private partners within Europe. This provides participants with the opportunity to gain insight into ongoing European projects and emerging market opportunities within the bioeconomy.
Dutch profiling and joint position
Given that The Hague is the host city, the Dutch sector will play a prominent role. In collaboration with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) and the Bio-Economy Platform (PBE), a central Dutch booth will be set up on the exhibition floor. This booth will serve as a meeting point for Dutch companies and organizations wishing to present their technologies, products, or services to an international audience.
Entrepreneurs and knowledge institutions interested in participating in this joint Dutch profile campaign can register through official channels. Attending the booth offers the opportunity to connect directly with international investors, policymakers, and potential partners.
