The CBE JU Info Day 2025 is scheduled for 3 April in Brussels. The event will showcase the recently announced €165 million funding opportunities, aimed at advancing a sustainable circular bioeconomy in Europe.
This hybrid event offers attendees the opportunity to participate in detailed sessions on 13 different funding topics, in-person networking opportunities and an online experience for stakeholders who wish to participate remotely.
Opening of project proposals
The call for project proposals will open on 4 April 2025. The event will provide an excellent platform to explore funding opportunities within the CBE JU annual work programme, which aims to stimulate innovation in various sectors, such as urban-industrial symbiosis, sustainable macro-algal systems and bio-based packaging solutions.
Reducing innovation risks
As part of its sustainability objectives, CBE JU focuses on scaling up circular technologies, resource efficiency and regional development through the creation of new jobs. Nicoló Giacomuzzi-Moore, Executive Director of CBE JU, emphasises: “Our efforts are aimed at de-risking innovation and fostering the market maturity of the bio-based sector.”
The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is a €2 billion public-private partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC). This partnership finances projects that contribute to the development of competitive circular bio-based industries in Europe.
Contributing to sustainable growth
“In 2025, CBE JU will continue to focus on increasing the participation of the primary sector, both on land and at sea, in the European bioeconomy. By fostering competitive and sustainable growth, our efforts will contribute to the creation of new jobs and inclusive regional development,” said Giacomuzzi-Moore. “Our sustainability goals include scaling up circular technologies, strengthening climate resilience and increasing resource efficiency. The CBE JU community is committed to fostering market maturity, removing barriers to investment and supporting innovation in the bio-based sector.”
