This summer, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) launched a new version of the Raw Materials Scanner, with updated data up to and including 2022. This tool offers entrepreneurs crucial information about the availability of raw materials, including metals, minerals and twenty different bio-raw materials.
The European manufacturing industry is highly dependent on raw materials from other countries. The Raw Materials Scanner provides insight into the availability of these raw materials per country and answers important questions: How certain is it that you will continue to receive your raw materials? What economic risks, such as rapid price increases, are there? What environmental risks play a role, such as deterioration of soil and water quality? And what social risks can have an impact?
The RVO developed the Raw Materials Scanner in 2018 to help entrepreneurs identify the most important raw materials in their products. The scanner shows the global production, price changes and various risks per raw material, such as export restrictions, instability in the countries of origin and environmental effects. Thanks to the recently updated data, companies can now anticipate future scarcity and the associated risks even better.
With the renewed Raw Materials Scanner, RVO offers entrepreneurs a valuable tool to make strategic decisions in an ever-changing global market.
