The European Bio-Based Digital Twins (BBTWINS) project is organizing a webinar on May 15 from 10.00:11.00 AM to 2:XNUMX AM CET (GMT+XNUMX) examining the potential of digital twins within the biobased agri-food sector.
BBTWINS is developing a digital platform for the optimization of agrifood value chain processes and the supply of high-quality biomass for bioprocessing. The platform is based on 'digital twins' technology – creating a real-time digital replica of physical processes in the agri-food industry.
BBTWINS also combines blockchain, artificial intelligence (machine learning and deep learning), big data, software analysis, computer simulation of agro-food processes and the Internet of Things (IoT) in this platform.
Digital twin technology offers a sustainable path forward, mitigating risks from climate change by optimizing agricultural processes and making them more efficient.
The four-year research and innovation project BBTWINS is funded by the Circular Biobased Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) in which it Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) and the Europese Commissie work together to make the European bioeconomy, including the agri-food value chain, more competitive.
Speakers during the webinar include:
- Daniel de la Puente Ranea, Head of EU Projects, CNTA
- Rebeca Martínez de Laguna Marquínez, R&D engineer, PANOimagen
- Israel Serrano, founder of StelvioTech
- José Mª Alonso Rodríguez (Cacho), Innovation Coordinator, SOLTEC Ingenieros SL
