On March 12, during the Week of the Circular Economy, the knowledge session The Raw Materials Transition within SMEs took place at the Green Chemistry Campus in Bergen op Zoom.
Jacco Vonhof, chairman of MKB Nederland and Chantal Dietvorst – ten tije, Managing Director Ecosystems Development at the Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) discussed with Thijs Rodenburg from Rodenburg Tony Starch and Joost Broeders from Baril Coatings.
They all agreed that North Brabant is the region where it happens. Many innovations are taking place here and steps are being taken in the field of plant-based.
The Netherlands must be completely climate neutral by 2050 and SME companies such as Rodenburg Biopolymers and Baril Coatings offer part of the solution. But they can't do this alone...
The raw materials transition will be a success if we work on it together. This knowledge session was a good example of this.
What do SME companies need now to make an impact in the raw materials transition and how can the government, interest groups such as MKB Nederland and organizations such as the BOM help with this?
