Energy is everywhere. Under your feet, deep in the ground, for example. But also in manure, straw, wood waste and mown roadside grass. Platform This is how energy works in the Netherlands launched an Information Card on Bioenergy this week. The map has been created in such a way that the reader quickly gains insight into the most important characteristics and advantages and disadvantages of bioenergy.
Bioenergy
Bioenergy is electricity, heat, gas or fuel made from biomass. Biomass residual flows are often used for this, such as wood waste, manure, straw or roadside grass. This is converted into energy using various techniques, for example for one home or an entire neighborhood. Within the Dutch energy system, bioenergy is the largest renewable energy source. The Bioenergy Information Card explains how bioenergy works and its advantages and disadvantages.
