EuropaBio has announced the full program of the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy (EFIB) taking place in Rotterdam on 24 and 25 October. There is also a preparatory summit on October 23, dedicated to plant-based biomanufacturing.
The 2023 theme, 'Industrial Biotechnology for a Sustainable and Resilient Global Europe', reflects the Netherlands' historic strength in global trade and its current position as one of the world's largest food exporters.
Four themes
The program program has four main theme areas: Food, Feed & Nutrition / Sustainable Biomaterials / Sustainable Finance / Bioprocesses & Technologies. There are almost 50 speakers, with a combination of presentations and panel discussions. EuropaBio's Biomanufacturing Platform also joins EFIB this year.
In addition to the thematic sessions, the agenda is supplemented with the Roundtable for Executives and the Roundtable for EU Legislation on New Genome Technologies. Start-ups and SMEs will be featured during the Start-up Hour and the SME Breakfast, and delegates will have the opportunity to network during two receptions and through special one-on-one conversations.
Prior to the conference, EFIB is also organizing a summit on October 23, focused on pharma: Changing the global paradigm for biomanufacturing in plants. This is accessible to all EFIB participants at no additional cost as part of their entrance ticket.
It's the last week for applications for the SME Village en Innovation Campus, so if you, as an SME, want to say something or conduct leading academic research, bring it to EFIB! See the agenda for details and registration.
