The NVDE has provided input for the upcoming elections in a letter to the political parties.
Over the past year we saw how damaging our dependence on Russian fossil energy is. One country proved capable of hitting our economy and society and thereby financing a horrific war. Green Energy Day is therefore also an Independence Day: we make sustainable energy ourselves, with reliable Dutch sun, wind or heat. There are still hundreds of thousands of households and many companies with major concerns about their energy bills. So there is every reason to accelerate the energy transition in a way in which everyone can participate. Much is still needed to emit at least 2030 percent fewer greenhouse gases by 55, the goal set out in the Climate Act. It is important to make our entire economy climate neutral by 2050: time flies.
The sustainable energy sector is happy to contribute to this. In addition to political will, this requires numerous practical solutions, precisely because the pace is already high. In this letter, NVDE makes a number of suggestions for your election manifesto.
