What does the energy system of our future look like? In the draft National Energy System Plan (NPE), the government describes what is needed for a climate-neutral energy system in 2050, and how we get there. Citizens and entrepreneurs can give their opinion about the draft plan in the digital counter of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).
A sustainable energy system
The draft NPE examines where we can build, save, distribute and accelerate for a sustainable and fair energy system. Now and in the future, for citizens and entrepreneurs. The NPE creates room for investments by citizens and companies to achieve further sustainability. And thus take advantage of the economic opportunities of the energy transition.
On Monday, July 3, 2023, Minister Rob Jetten for Climate and Energy presented the concept plan in a press conference.
Respond to the draft NPE
With your input, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK) will finalize the draft NPE. Respond to the draft NPE before September 17, 2023 via the questions in the digital counter. You can choose which questions you answer and which questions you skip. This way you can contribute ideas to the final National Energy System Plan. This final NPE refines the main choices, development paths, sector transitions, necessary conditions and administrative guarantees.

You can also discuss the NPE with EZK during Energy Dialogues. The planning of the Energy Dialogues is:

During these Energy Dialogues they share knowledge and collect information. After the plenary start, you put together your own program. Each session focuses on one topic, dilemma or challenge.
These Energy Dialogues are mainly aimed at (professional) stakeholders involved in the energy system. You can register for one of the Energy Dialogues in the region in August. Keep that in mind the website of RVO.
