Developments in the field of energy transition and industrial greening require efforts in large-scale, sustainable innovation. That is why Energy & Climate has been set up, a regional innovation program in South Holland to stimulate and realize sustainable innovation. The program supports entrepreneurs in testing and demonstrating new technologies and making innovations market-ready by using the regional field lab infrastructure.
Companies with solutions in the field of sustainable innovation can again apply for a subsidy from the Energy & Climate innovation program from today until February 5, 2023. This concerns vouchers with a value of up to € 100.000. The vouchers can be used for hours and materials during a feasibility study or testing an innovation in a field lab or practice. With this scheme, the program encourages companies to collaborate with field labs and make applications marketable (more quickly). It is the last planned round of the program for the time being.
The Energy & Climate program focuses on 4 themes.
One of the themes is Circular raw materials in industry
To make the industry in South Holland future-proof, we will focus on renewable raw materials. This can be done by reusing raw materials of biogenic origin, such as biomass, and valorizing waste and CO2. A regional field lab with knowledge and experience in the field of biotechnology is Planet B.io. They like to think about possible projects and project partners. An ongoing project on this theme is DOPS, an innovative recycling technology in which waste from industry can be separated and reused as renewable raw materials without emitting CO2.
The other 3 themes are:
- Making the built environment more sustainable
- Large-scale energy generation and storage
- Power-2-X: electrification of industry
