This winter, the Royal Dutch Society of Sciences and Humanities will organize an essay competition around the theme 'towards an optimal energy transition'.
The Netherlands wants to make the switch to sustainable energy in the short term. The climate goals, but also the high energy costs, help to emphasize the urgency of this transition in society. But a lot still needs to be done to make the transition quick and effective. What opportunities are we overlooking and what ideas can help us to complete this assignment successfully? What would you like to prioritize and how do we maintain high citizen involvement? What would you like to receive priority attention for?
Let KHMW know in an essay of no more than 1.500 words. The competition is primarily aimed at the Netherlands, but thinking across borders is not objectionable. After all, the climate goals can only be achieved if all countries make their contribution. A collection of the winning essays will be published.
The competition is judged by an expert jury composed of members and directors of the KHMW.
Submissions are accepted until January 21, 2023 via secretaris@khmw.nl. Submissions please be in Dutch or English.
