The province of Overijssel has resumed support for bioenergy. This is good news for the sector.
But the support is not without conditions. The province keeps the advice of the SER in mind. This advised parties to use biomass as much as possible for high-quality applications. It may only be used for warmth where there is no other option. Such as for high temperature applications in industry. Or for heating networks, but only for the peak, or as a backup or temporarily. Green gas for space heating in outdoor areas is also allowed. But here too: only if there is no alternative.
The province is aware of the need for bioenergy and believes it can manage this well with the new policy. She will resume financing from the Overijssel Energy Fund.
