Minister Jetten (Climate and Energy) shares the conclusions of the Dutch Emissions Authority's research into the sustainability of bio-raw materials from Estonia intended for energy applications with the House of Representatives.
Conclusion report
The conclusion of the NEa investigation states that the areas in the SOMO report can almost certainly not be related to bio raw materials supplied to the Netherlands. In addition, the NEa states that there are no indications that forests in Estonia are structurally not sustainably managed. The NEa then concludes that the bio-raw materials used from Estonia in the Netherlands meet the applicable sustainability requirements and can be considered sustainable.
