The FitFor55 package was presented on Wednesday, July 14.
Realizing the European Green Deal
Making Europe the first climate-neutral continent in the world is the goal of this climate plan.
“These proposals aim to equip all sectors of the EU economy to meet this challenge. They put the EU on track to achieve its climate goals by 2030 in a fair, cost-effective and competitive way.”
The European Green Deal set the blueprint for this transformational change.
All 27 EU Member States have committed to making the EU the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To get there, they pledged to cut emissions by at least 2030% by 55, compared to 1990 levels.
This will create new opportunities for innovation, investment and jobs.
Number of points that emerge:
- Making transport sustainable for everyone
- Leading the Third Industrial Revolution
- Making our energy system cleaner
- Renovating buildings for a greener lifestyle
- Working with nature to protect our planet and our health
- Driving global climate action
