Ed Nijpels, Chairman of the Climate Agreement Progress Consultation, wrote a letter to Rutte and Kaag about the use of bio-raw materials for heat.
In a letter to Mrs Kaag and Mr Rutte (with copies to five ministers), Chairman Ed Nijpels, on behalf of the Climate Agreement Progress Consultation, outlined the consequences of the recent decision of the outgoing cabinet on subsidies for bio-based raw materials for heat.
State Secretary Yesilgöz of Economic Affairs and Climate decided on June 9, 2021 that the SDE++ 2021 subsidy scheme that starts this autumn will not be drawn up for low-temperature heat applications of woody bio-raw materials. This happened following an adopted motion by MP Esch.
“This decision comes as a surprise to the parties to the Climate Agreement, especially because the phase-out path to be developed for these applications has been declared controversial by the House and therefore no full-fledged debate could take place,” says Nijpels.
