“Alone you can sometimes go faster, but together you can go much further. That's an old saying from Africa that I believe in very strongly. Joining forces is certainly what we do with the Chaplin programme. We replace the fossil bitumen in asphalt with the bio-raw material lignin. Contractors, clients, lignin producers and knowledge parties work together that are normally each other's competitors. Because they see that this way you achieve results on the way to a greener society. For example, we are the first in the world to build a stretch of road with lignin in all three layers. I think working on innovation by connecting people is wonderful.”
