“The sugar beet is really a super crop. We don't just extract sugar, we use absolutely everything. We can now also extract high-quality proteins from the foliage. Good for the transition to a more plant-based diet. We use sugar beet pulp as animal feed, but in collaboration with Crown Van Gelder it is also made into sustainable paper and packaging material. We use other substances for, for example, detergents and shampoo. We even use the water from the beets, tomatoes and aubergines in surrounding greenhouses grow on it! And 17 of our trucks now run 100% on our own green gas sugar to customers! Isn't it great that you can achieve so much with one crop?”
